Mery Team Coordinator
The role is based out of Thailand.
The role of the Mercy Ministry Coordinator is to serve as a compassionate leader, identifying, establishing, and implementing new initiatives to address the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the local community. This role is also intended to inspire others who have an interest in the GFM's mercy ministry work in Thailand. It is distinguished by a deep commitment to personally serving community members, fostering authentic relationships, and demonstrating the love and compassion of Jesus Christ in every interaction, so that others may experience His love and compassion firsthand. It is full time and support raising or self-funding is required. The role is based out of Bangkok, Thailand.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture partnerships with local organizations, ministries, churches, and community leaders to align efforts and expand community impact.
- Identify, develop and implement a variety of mercy programs to meet the needs of the local community needs which may include: food distribution, home repair assistance, medical care/financial assistance, elderly support, care for single/first-time mothers and widows, children's after-school programs/tutoring/arts/sports, ESL, foster/orphan care, migrant outreach, addiction recovery, and microfinance.
- Oversee daily coordination, scheduling, and resource allocation for all ministry activities, prioritizing dignity and relationships.
- Stay attentive to needs and opportunities within GFM's Thailand HUB community.
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to serve with compassion and a servant-leadership mindset, modeling empathy and people-first priorities.
- Represent GFM and its core values while serving as host for its mercy ministries.
- Provide regular reports and updates to leadership, volunteers, partners, and the community.
- Provide prayer, emotional, and spiritual support alongside practical aid, always seeking opportunities to share the gospel in alignment with the Thailand Hub's Multiplication Strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Must personally embrace GFM's purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith
- Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16-17; Col 3:16-17)
- Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others (Eph 4:15)
- Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking (Heb 10:24-25)
- Must function well both independently and in a team environment (1 Cor 12:25-26)
- Must be able use or learn internal communications and technology systems (Email, Google Drive, Slack, Salesforce, etc.)
- Must be ready to experience significant missions training and discipleship through GFM's Missionary Training School (in person sessions or online)
Recommended Experience
- A College Degree is preferred but not required; informal training/experience in administration, communications, team building, human resource management, organization, leadership, and/or ministry will be considered
